Limited Edition 80th Anniversary VE Day Taylors Port

To commemorate the heroic actions of the UK and indeed all Allied forces involved in the Second World War we have commissioned this numbered Limited Edition Taylors VE Day Port with the more traditional logo.

Only 80 will be produced and each bottle will be numbered. As you can imagine, people will always want a specific number, if we can accommodate that we will, but is by no means guaranteed.  We have added a text box below for you to add your preferred number, please just list order of preference, ie 15, 63, 24 etc.

If these numbers have already been sold, you will receive the next available number, please appreciate that the obvious numbers will have gone really quickly 🙁

But alas, you will still have a limited bottle and one of the 80.

We will be donating bottle 01, 44 and 80 to charity events so that they can be auctioned off for charities

Taylors Port is one of the oldest and most celebrated port houses in the world, with a history stretching back to 1692. Their ports are renowned for exceptional quality, depth of flavour, and the ability to age gracefully over decades. This VE Day Taylors Port has been specially selected and bottled to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, making it not only a superb drink but a genuine piece of history.

Whether you are buying this limited edition 80th anniversary VE Day Taylors port as a gift for a veteran, a collector, or simply as a personal reminder of one of the most significant moments in British history, you can be assured that this bottle will be treasured. Each bottle comes individually numbered, adding to its exclusivity and collectible appeal. This makes it an ideal gift for military personnel, history enthusiasts, or anyone who wishes to honour the sacrifices made during the Second World War.

A Bottle Worth Keeping

Taylors have been producing exceptional fortified wine in the Douro Valley since 1692, making them one of the oldest and most respected names in the world of premium vintage wine. This special commemorative release draws on that extraordinary heritage to create a bottle that is as much a work of art as it is a pleasure to drink. The deep, rich flavour — developed through years of careful ageing — delivers a complex blend of dark fruits, gentle spice, and a long, warming finish that lingers long after each glass.

The label design has been commissioned specifically for the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, featuring imagery and typography that reflect the gravity and joy of that historic moment in May 1945. For collectors and military history enthusiasts alike, the combination of premium contents and meaningful design makes this one of the most compelling commemorative bottles released in recent years.

About This Limited Edition VE Day Port

The 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day is one of the most significant commemorations in modern British history. VE Day, 8th May 1945, marked the end of the Second World War in Europe — a moment of profound relief, jubilation, and gratitude for those who had lived through six years of conflict. To mark this extraordinary milestone, we have created a truly exceptional limited edition port, with just 80 bottles in existence — one for each year since that historic day.

This commemorative port is not simply a product — it is a piece of history. Each bottle carries the weight of eight decades of memory, honouring the service and sacrifice of those who fought, worked, and waited during the most defining years of the twentieth century. As a vintage-inspired collectible, this port represents the perfect intersection of British tradition, historical significance, and outstanding quality.

Why Port for VE Day?

Port wine has been synonymous with British celebration for centuries. From naval officers toasting victories at sea to formal mess dinners marking the end of campaigns, port has been the drink of choice when important moments demand a fitting tribute. It is no coincidence that when the war ended, glasses of fine port were raised across Britain in celebration. Churchill himself was a celebrated lover of fine wines and fortified drinks, making port a highly appropriate vessel for marking this anniversary.

Choosing a fine port to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day is entirely appropriate. Port keeps beautifully, making it ideal as a display bottle that can be preserved or opened on a meaningful future occasion. Whether you choose to enjoy this port on the anniversary itself, save it for a significant family milestone, or display it permanently as a commemorative piece, it is a drink with genuine historical resonance and lasting appeal.

A Strictly Limited Edition

Just 80 bottles of this VE Day commemorative edition have been produced. Once these are gone, they are gone permanently — we will not be commissioning additional stock or extending the edition under any circumstances. The scarcity of this port is fundamental to what makes it genuinely collectible, and we would not compromise that integrity for the sake of commercial convenience.

If you are considering this bottle as a collector’s piece, a family heirloom, or a gift for someone with a deep interest in Second World War history, we strongly encourage you to order without delay. Interest in commemorative editions of this nature tends to be high, and previous limited releases have sold out well in advance of the anniversary they mark.

The 80th anniversary of VE Day is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion for anyone alive today. Securing a bottle is a way of marking your own connection to that moment in history — whether through personal family memory, military heritage, or simply a deep respect for what that generation of men and women achieved.

The Perfect Gift for Collectors and History Enthusiasts

A limited edition commemorative bottle of this calibre makes an outstanding gift for a wide range of recipients. History enthusiasts will immediately appreciate the significance of the 80th anniversary and the meticulous thought behind its creation. Veterans and their families will find it a poignant and meaningful tribute to those who served during the conflict.

For collectors, this edition ticks every box. It is strictly limited to 80 bottles, it marks a significant round-number anniversary, and it is presented in a format suitable for long-term display. Fortified wines such as port do not deteriorate in the bottle when stored correctly, meaning this bottle can be kept indefinitely as a display piece or opened for a truly special occasion when the moment feels right.

This bottle is also an excellent choice for corporate gifting. If your organisation has historical ties to the armed forces, commemorates VE Day formally, or simply wishes to mark the 80th anniversary with a gift of genuine substance, this limited edition represents an opportunity that will not present itself again.

Storing Your Commemorative Bottle

To keep your limited edition VE Day port in the best possible condition, we recommend storing it in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and significant temperature fluctuations. Port stored under these conditions will remain in excellent condition for many years and can be opened at any time without concern about quality.

If you intend to display this port rather than consume it in the near term, an upright position is perfectly acceptable for fortified wines — unlike still wines, port does not require horizontal storage to keep the cork moist, as the higher alcohol content ensures the cork remains in excellent condition regardless of orientation.

When the time comes to open your bottle — whether on a significant anniversary, at a family gathering, or at any meaningful future occasion — we hope it provides a fitting tribute to the men and women whose sacrifice made that first VE Day possible.
